TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE (for Sedan) > REMOVAL



1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel lower center.



2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the shift lever knob.



3. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Shift the shift lever into the N position.

  1. Disengage the 5 clips and the claw and remove the upper console panel.



4. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Disengage the 3 clips and 3 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the console upper rear panel.



5. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET

  1. Remove the console box carpet.



6. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the clamp.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.

  1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the rear console box.



7. DISCONNECT OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR


8. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY FRONT
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.



  1. Remove 3 No. 4 exhaust pipe support and the front exhaust pipe assembly.

  1. Remove the 2 exhaust pipe gaskets.



9. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR NO.1
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and nut and remove floor heat insulator No.1.



10. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

Rotate 180°
  1. Disconnect the control shift cable from the shift lever.

  1. Remove the clip and disconnect the control select cable from the shift lever.

  1. Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable.

    NOTICE:
    Do not remove the stopper. If it is removed, reinstall it to its original position.
  1. Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

    NOTICE:
    Do not rotate the nut excessively as it may damage the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.

  1. Remove the 2 clips and the 2 washers, and disconnect the 2 cables from the transaxle.

  1. Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 cables from the control cable bracket.

  1. Remove the 3 nuts and remove the transmission control cable.
