INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- HINT:
- Operating the ignition switch, any switches or any doors triggers related ECU and sensor communication with the CAN, which causes resistance variation.
1.PRECAUTION |
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).

2.DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal before measuring the resistances of the main wire and the branch wire.
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3.CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (SKID CONTROL ECU WITH ACTUATOR BRANCH WIRE) |
Disconnect the A17 skid control ECU with actuator connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard resistance:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A17-12 (CANH) - A17-13 (CANL) Ignition switch OFF 54 to 69 Ω

OK | |
4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU WITH ACTUATOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) |
Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal before measuring the resistances of the main wire and the branch wire.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A17-16 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard voltage:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition A17-1 (+BM) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V A17-32 (+BS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V A17-8 (IG1) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
