1. REMOVE CANISTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Disconnect the purge line hose.

  1. Disconnect the air inlet line hose.

    1. Push the hose firmly toward the canister side.

    2. Pinch the hose (portion A) as shown in the illustration.

    3. Pull out the hose.

      NOTICE:
      1. Do not use any tools in this procedure.
      2. Check for any dirt and foreign matter contamination in the canister and around the hose. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage the O-rings or cause leaks in the seal between the canister and hose.
  1. Disconnect the vent line hose.

    1. Pinch the retainer and then raise it.

      NOTICE:
      1. Do not use any tools in this procedure.
      2. Check for any dirt and foreign matter contamination in the valve and around the connector. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage the O-rings or cause leaks in the seal between the valve and connector.

  1. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and canister.



2. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER LEAK DETECTION PUMP SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Before removing the charcoal canister leak detection pump, clean the canister by blowing air into it to ensure that the canister is free of foreign matter.

    NOTICE:
    1. Make sure to clean the canister using only air.
    2. Do not use gasoline, thinners or solvents.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and charcoal canister leak detection pump.



  1. Check if the canister contains foreign matter such as mud or water.

    1. Visually check that the inside of the canister is free of foreign matter.

    2. Hold the canister upside down to make sure that the canister is free of foreign matter.
      If the canister contains foreign matter, replace the canister.
