1. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
  1. Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.



2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
  1. Remove the nut, wiper arm and blade.



3. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 16 claws and remove the cowl top seal.



4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
  1. Using a clip remover, detach the claw and remove the cowl side seal.



5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 clips.

  1. Detach the 8 claws and remove the ventilator louver.



7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
  1. Partially remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the front pillar garnish LH can be removed (Click here).



8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


9. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH
  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 assist grip plugs.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
  1. Remove the 2 bolts and assist grip.



  1. Detach the claw and remove the front pillar garnish.

  1. Protect the curtain shield airbag.

    1. Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.

      NOTICE:
      Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.


10. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


11. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror)

  1. Slide the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws from the roof headlining, and then detach the 2 claws of the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover from the mirror and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover.



12. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY
  1. w/ EC Mirror:
    Remove the inner mirror (Click here).

  1. w/o EC Mirror:
    Remove the inner mirror (Click here).



13. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
  1. for Short Type:
    Remove the roof console box (Click here).

  1. for Long Type:
    Remove the roof console box (Click here).



14. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER LH

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

16. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

18. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER
  1. for Regular Cab:
    Remove the visor holder (Click here).

19. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. for Regular Cab, for Double Cab:
    Remove the assist grip (Click here).

20. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG

  1. Insert a screwdriver into the service notch and break off the cap.

  1. Detach the clip and remove the assist grip plug.



21. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
  1. Partially remove the roof headlining.

    HINT:
    It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining so that the windshield glass can be removed in a later step.

22. REMOVE REAR ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH

  1. Put protective tape around the moulding.

  1. Using a heat light, heat the moulding.

    NOTICE:
    Do not heat the moulding and vehicle body excessively.
  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the clip and remove the moulding.

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not remove the clip from the vehicle body.
    2. If the clip is damaged or removed accidentally, replace it.


23. REMOVE REAR ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the LH side.


24. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH
  1. Put protective tape around the moulding.



  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the clip and remove the moulding.

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not remove the clip from the vehicle body.
    2. If the clip is damaged or removed accidentally, replace it.

26. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP

HINT:
Perform the following procedure only if the clips are damaged or have come off the vehicle.


  1. Remove the 2 roof drip side finish moulding clips.

27. REMOVE OUTSIDE WINDSHIELD MOULDING

  1. Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
  1. Remove the remaining moulding.

    HINT:
    Make a partial cut in the moulding. Then pull and remove it by hand.


28. REMOVE UPPER WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING

  1. Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
  1. Remove the remaining moulding.

    HINT:
    Make a partial cut in the moulding. Then pull and remove it by hand.


29. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS

  1. w/ Windshield Deicer:
    Remove the clip and disconnect the connector.

  1. Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

  1. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration.

  1. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    NOTICE:
    1. When separating the glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments.
    2. To prevent the instrument panel from being scratched when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and instrument panel.

  1. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Matchmarks do not need to be placed if not reusing the glass.
  1. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass.

    NOTICE:
    Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when cutting through the adhesive.
  1. Disengage the stoppers.

  1. Using suction cups, remove the glass.



30. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS

  1. Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dams and adhesive sticking to the glass.

  1. Clean the outer edges of the glass with non-residue solvent.

    NOTICE:
    Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.
    Even if using new glass, clean it with non-residue solvent.


31. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

  1. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.

    1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:
      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

      NOTICE:
      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
  1. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.

    HINT:
    Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
