1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
  1. Remove the 6 bolts, 10 clips and engine under cover.



2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
  1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

    HINT:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.
  1. Remove the radiator reservoir cap.

    CAUTION:
    Do not remove the radiator reservoir cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.


  1. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug.

    HINT:
    The plug is on the backside of the generator on the EGR cooler side.

3. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

  1. Remove the 9 clips and radiator support opening cover.



4. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  1. Remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the radiator reservoir.



5. DISCONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE

  1. Disconnect the radiator hose from the water inlet.



6. REMOVE NO. 4 INLET WATER BY-PASS PIPE

  1. Remove the bolt and No. 4 inlet water by-pass pipe.



7. REMOVE WATER INLET

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and water inlet.



8. REMOVE THERMOSTAT

  1. Remove the thermostat.

  1. Remove the gasket from the thermostat.
