COMPONENT REBUILD
O.D. AND INTERMEDIATE CLUTCH HOUSING
1. Dis-assemble the overdrive and intermediate
clutch housing assembly, using Figure 115 as
a guide.
2. Clean all overdrive and intermediate clutch
parts thoroughly and dry with compressed air.
3. Inspect all overdrive and intermediate clutch
parts thoroughly for the following:
o Plugged feed passages
o Worn or damaged splines
o Damaged or worn springs
o Damaged or worn pistons
o Damaged or worn clutch plates
4. Lubricate molded intermediate clutch piston
with small amount of Trans-Jel® and install it
into intermediate clutch housing with rotating
motion, as shown in Figure 116.
