1. REMOVE BATTERY
  1. Disconnect the battery cables.

  1. Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

  1. Remove the battery.



2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR

  1. Remove the 2 radiator grille protectors.



3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  1. Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly.

  1. Remove the 4 screws, 2 bolts and 7 clips.

  1. Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

  1. w/ Fog Light:

    1. Disconnect the 2 fog light connectors.



4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
  1. Loosen the lower radiator drain cock plug.

    CAUTION:
    Do not loosen the lower radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator are still hot.
    Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

    HINT:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.


  1. Remove the radiator cap.

5. REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Disengage the clamp and the ambient temperature sensor.



6. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE

  1. Disconnect the radiator reservoir tank hose from the radiator assembly.



7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

  1. Disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.



8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.



9. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.

  1. Remove the 2 support cushions from the 2 upper radiator supports.



10. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 3 bolts from the hood lock assembly.

  1. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.



11. SEPARATE WATER BY-PASS HOSE

  1. Separate the water by-pass hose from the 3 clamps.

  1. Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.



12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock support sub-assembly.



13. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the horn connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.



14. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, disengage the 2 claws, and remove the No. 2 fan shroud from the radiator assembly.



15. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector and wire harness clamp.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the connector.

  1. Remove the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.

    NOTICE:
    Do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or pipe when removing the radiator assembly.
  1. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.



16. REMOVE OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and oil cooler hose.



17. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud from the radiator assembly.
